Château George 7

TAKING HERITAGE INTO THE FUTURE

Château George 7 is a new boutique winery on the right bank of Bordeaux. Established in 2017, we produce AOC Fronsac wines from 35-year-old merlot vines at a small privately-owned estate in the village of Saillans.

Our name reflects our mission - to blend the best of the heritage and tradition of Bordeaux with forward-looking wine-making approaches and techniques.

Our Approach

CULTIVATING SUSTAINABILITY

Our holistic approach to sustainability influences everything we do:

In the vines and in the winery,

from the plants to the packaging.

Making Our Wines

TAKING NATURE BY THE HAND

Merlot flourishes here in the Fronsac terroir of clay soil on the underlying limestone plateau.

We tend each small parcel of the 3-hectare estate according to its specific aspect and particularities to encourage the very best it has to offer.

The Expert Touch

BUCKETS OF PASSION IN A BOTTLE

"Our mission at Château George 7 is a wine that captures the essence of the potential of Fronsac today: fruit-forward, fresh with a touch of minerality from the limestone plateau along with great structure that is not over-bearing."

WINE & ME

Having lived and worked in France for over 25 years (and having enjoyed drinking wine for a little while longer), I decided it might be time to get serious about wine. The family had flown the nest and so the time had come to follow new passions. I started studying WSET (Wine and Spirits Education Trust) wine courses and travelled to Bordeaux to explore the city and its appellations.
